From a global perspective, building energy consumption accounts for about 30% of the total energy consumption of the whole society. At present, China is the world's largest construction market, and building is both a major energy consumer and a future “main battlefield” for energy conservation. It is understood that domestic building energy consumption accounts for more than 29% of the total energy consumption of the whole society, and is still increasing at a rate of 1% per year.

Therefore, it is imperative to promote building energy conservation.

The promotion of building energy conservation will inevitably lead to the rapid development of the polyurethane rigid foam industry. According to a report released by Puhua Consulting, China has the world's largest construction market, and currently more than 95% of new buildings in China are still high-energy buildings. According to the specific goal of building energy conservation in the Urban and Rural Housing Construction Department, by 2010, new buildings in cities and towns across the country will achieve energy savings of 50%, and by 2020, new buildings in the north and coastal economically developed areas will achieve energy savings of 65%. The proportion of domestic hard foam in building insulation materials is about 10%. At present, the annual new housing area in the country is about 2 billion square meters, of which the town is about 1.3 billion square meters. According to the thickness of 5 cm, the energy-saving building per square meter consumes about 2 kg of polyurethane rigid foam. If the energy-saving building in the new building in urban areas accounts for 60%, the annual demand for polyurethane hard foam is 156,000 tons. 40 billion square meters of existing buildings, according to the transformation cycle of 25 years, the transformation rate is also calculated at 60%, the annual high-energy building transformation requires 57,000 tons of polyurethane rigid foam. In total, the above two items require 213,000 tons of hard foam per year. If the proportion of polyurethane hard foam is increased to 20%, the annual consumption will increase to 420,000 tons.

Therefore, it can be seen that the future development of the polyurethane rigid foam industry is considerable. For this reason, most of the rigid foam composite materials companies are necessarily involved, but the overall competition is fierce. There have also been some mixed things.

According to the industry analyst of Puhua Consulting Group-Global Polyurethane Network, due to the late start of the domestic building insulation materials industry, the overall industry maturity is low, the large enterprises are less, and the industry concentration is lower. At the same time, because the building insulation industry is an emerging industry in China, various industry systems are not standardized, which has led to mixed enterprises in the industry, and the products are mixed. As a result, the overall competitive landscape of the industry is more chaotic.

However, with the development, the industry will become more and more standardized, and some mixed products will be eliminated.

Puhua Consulting Agency - Global Polyurethane Network predicts that this year, the sheet will consume 39,000 tons of polyurethane rigid foam; spray will consume 42,000 tons of polyurethane rigid foam; the pipeline will consume 30,000 tons of polyurethane rigid foam; sealant will consume polyurethane rigid foam 44,000 tons.
